Replace Cervelo with a Canyon?

I wondering about replacing my 2008 Cervelo R3-SL frame (think Carlos Sastre) with a 2014 Canyon CF SLX frame. Worth doing or waste of money? The Cervelo is a bit long for me but OK with 100mm stem. The downside of the Canyon is the special stem clamp size. The upside is that I suspect they are very good and cheaper than many other top end frames. And, most importantly, I like the look of them.

Carlito won the Tour with it, one of the few passable Tours of the past decade... so no reason to change until you do better...left the forum March 20230

They're both great bikes- I own a Cervelo R5 and have ridden (only briefly) a Canyon Ultimate CF SLX.
They're more similar than they are different - if the Cervelo doesn't fit you and the Canyon does, then that's a pretty good reason to swap.0 -

If stem clamp size is all you can find wrong with a bike then there's nothing wrong with the bike!
But anyway, have you tried a 90 or 80mm stem? Have you had a bike fit on the R3?Faster than a tent.......0 -

Ive had a Retul bike fit. I have long legs for my height (nearly 34 inches and I'm 5-10.25) so the Cervelo is 56, the 54 at the time was too low at the front 140mm. The Canyon would be 54 M with either a 110 or 120 stem.Pegoretti
