Hi has anyone suggestions for a cycle route from the Severn Bridge (old one obviously) to Chippenham, hoping to end up somewhere near railway station.
Alternative routes welcome.

Two main routes I'd use. Turn left at the bridge and head up into Thornbury then Tytherington, Frenchay and pick up the ring road path to link up the the Bristol - Bath path at Mangostfield and onto Bath then the A4 to Chippenham.
Other option is to take the country lanes to Cribbs Causeway then across Bristol to the start of the cyclepath then onto Bath and A4 again. A quick route plot says the Bristol route is 1 mile longer than the Thornbury route.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    Olveston - Alveston - Iron Acton - Chipping Sodbury - Dodington - Tormarton - Ford - Biddestone - Chippenham.

If you don't fancy the A432 in Yate, there's a cycle track following round just outside the B4059 as you reach Yate.
If you don't fancy the A420, you can get to Ford by swinging towards Castle Coombe rather than going through North Wraxall

Using the Bristol-Bath path seems like going a long way off the direct route.
