Hi,

Has anyone had any experience with this bike??

I am on the verge of buying a Giant Defy 1 for £999 but With discount i can get the Boardman Pro Carbon for £1040 instead of the usual £1299.

Any advice would be appreciated :-)
Thank You

Is this the one? The review seems pretty positive.

Yup, thats the one. There doesn't seem to be many reviews on other websites. im guessing maybe because its new.
I was hoping maybe someone has some experience with the bike or knows someone who owns the bike.

Not the nicest Boardman* but still a lot better looking than that Giant* IMO

*Have not seen in the flesh but will pop into Helfords tomorrow and have a look at the Boardman.

10% off through British cycling and also paying in halfords vouchers. It comes to £1053

Ah, you've met our resident troll :D

It's an SLR frame, just in T700 instead of T800/T1000. T700 makes it very slightly heavier, for a similar stiffness, hence it being 8kg, instead of 7.Xkg.

They aren't especially pretty but that's because Boardman let the CAD/Finite Element Analysis determine what it needed to look like, rather than making a pretty bike and ignoring the flex downsides that would create. There are plenty of pretty bikes out there, if that is your priority.

This bike won the Cycling Plus group test, but what do they know

At just over £1k, it is punching well above its weight.

I bet he didn't even look at the link. The gallery of photos hardly shows the bike at all. Why do most reviews show us a photo of the sprockets. We KNOW what that looks like. They're all the same.

You spend a lot of time choosing colour looks, but then quickly forget about all that if it rides well (or not).
I feel unless it is in a colour or design you really do not like then its worth getting if the value/ride is good enough.
