I need a fork - 100 or 120mm - must be a spring - any advice..
..the bike is in Africa - no maintenance facilities for forks - so needs to robust - probably metal spring and not elastomeric - which will perish..

Rockshox Tora is about as bomb proof as they come on a sensible budget, I would at least be sure it had a decent damper or you may as well be rigid.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Tora is now called XC30. Bombproof fork. I would go for a version with rebound damper only.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

I recommend Tora too.
Even if it start to work poorly service is very easy to make with RS manuals and tutorials from YouTube.0
