Shimano 7800ss derailleur capacity
Hi
Does anyone know if the following will work. I want to convert a standard Dura Ace7800 groupst to a different gear ration setup for a trip to the Alps
I am starting with a Shimano 7800 groupset with short cage rear derailleur.
And I have a new 7950 chainset (50/34)
Looking at the shimano website this might be a problem because
1. the front derailleur will cope with 15 tooth difference (not 16)
2. Capacity of the 7800ss derailleur is 27t, but I want to run 11/28
So, in summary can I run a 7950 chainset (50/34) with a 7800 fron derailleur? And can I use a 7800ss rear derailleur with a 11/28 cassette?[/b]
Plan B (assuming the front mech issue is not a problem) might be to use a 9 spd XT rear mech which I understand has the same cable pull ration as the DA road derailleur, but would prefer to stick with DA if poss.
Thanks

It will all be fine. I have ran an 11-28 on a 7800 rear mech with absolutely no problems, (for a time I also ran a 12-30 on the same rear mech but this needed a longer b screw).0

Thank you both for your prompt reply. I will go ahead and order a cassette.
