Unable to link to seach results (square brackets in URL)

Normally, if you copy and paste the URL of a search result into a post, it will parse properly. However there are some square brackets in the results of certain advanced searches e.g. when you search a specific forum,
E.g.
search.php?keywords=compact&terms=all&author=&fid[]=40059&sc=1&sf=titleonly&sr=topics&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search
The URL does not fully parse even if you try and turn some text into a link:
[url=http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/search.php?keywords=compact&terms=all&author=&fid[]=40059&sc=1&sf=titleonly&sr=topics&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search]Search results[/url]
Removing the square brackets from the URL stops the search from working properly
Is there any way around this?
E.g.
search.php?keywords=compact&terms=all&author=&fid[]=40059&sc=1&sf=titleonly&sr=topics&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search
