Buying a MTB first timer.......

Alright, hi folks.
Basically I had a go on some local trails here in Rostrevor on my friends dads 29'er and loved it. I did not take note of the brand.
I was in Halfords today and spotted a Carrera Titan 650B. It is in the sale at £299. I tried to find reviews on this bike but I could not see any. I do not trust Halfords reviews. Is it a good bike for a entry level MTB'er.
Or
Do I spend the extra money for the Voodoo Bizango 29'er which I have read some very good reviews on.
Any advice would be great. Thanks guys.

The Titan has a nasty fork and seriously budget bits. Never worth the supposed RRP.
The Bizango is much, much better.I don't do smileys.

The Bizango is the mbr Magazine Bike of the Year - "one hell of a bike for £600". But how much do you want to spend? For an entry level bike Halfords have some great choices, usually in the Carrera, Voodoo and Boardman ranges - the other recommendation in here is Decathlon, which do well-spec's B'twin Rockrider bikes.Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)

I own the voodoo, fantastic bike. 10x better than the Carrera Vulcan it replaced. I ride XC and occasionally Trail Centres and its fine, even thrown it off some big jumps and the wheels are true as anything.Framebuilder
