Looking to get backing into trail riding but not sure what bike to get.Just looking for a hardtail for red and black routes.Willing to spend upto £650 for the right bike.
Its really a pick between
1.Rockrider 8.1 £550
2.Calibre 2.2 £340
3.Calibre .50 £600
4. Voodoo Hoodoo £500
They all get great reviews on here but will i notice the difference between the cheaper one and the more expensive bikes in my list? Had a look at second hand hardtails for the same cash but most are either abused or needing cash spent on the to get then sorted.
Thanks for any help or ideas.

Yes you will notice the difference, the RR is the best bike but is more XC than trail, although I manage red and black just fine on my similar geo Carrera the descents can be a little nerve jangling so you may want to look at a more trail focused bike.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Agree, the RR is more XC orientated, you'll manage red/black trails with it but a trail designed bike will do the job better... for trail riding you want 120mm+ travel up front0
