Hello,

The Miche Syntium Axy wheelset gets 4 stars on BikeRadar, but no there is no mentioning unfortunately of whether it is a more harsh or more comfy wheelset.

Does anyone know?

Regards,

Michiel

Tyres and tyre pressures make a wheel comfy or harsh, it has little to with the wheel. One of the most comfy wheel I own is a set of deep carbon wheels 25mm wide running 23mm conti tyre that come up at 26mm. The ride is as comfortable as by high spoke count Nemesis tubular wheels with Vittorio Pave tubs. The point I am making rims and spoke make little difference to comfort. Tyres and pressure do.

  • Thanks. I agree, I'm using Vittoria Open Corsa 25 mm 320 tip tyres and Michelin latex inner tyres now to make my harsh aluminium Gios V-107 frame ride more comfortably, and it works. The reason I'm asking is that Bikeradar often says, this or that hoop takes the sting out of roads. They might have a point too?
