My resolution is to be fit for june, and stop spending all my money on food. Hopefully i will have an upgraded bike and the fitness to ride really quickly on it.

Pretty much this, I've ridden about three times in the last few months due to a massivly hectic schedule and as a result gained about a stone.

I'm going skiing for a fortnight in 6 weeks so need some serious enthusiasm and comitment to staying (almost) dry for Jan.

Ride every weekend, whether it's outside or on the turbo trainer.

+1 for me as well. My downfall is the booze, if I can knock it right down, it'll be plain sailing. Trouble is, it just tastes so moorish.

Can someone explain the point of a turbo trainer, no scenary, no tech sections, no falling off, no getting wet, no adrenalin rush, and £80+ I could spend on the bike.

NYR is to try and understand TT's - perhaps!

Well where I live through the winter we have (almost) constant high winds, high enough that it's not safe to ride outside, on or off-road. I agree, if I lived somewhere else I would just spend the money on the bike, but unfortunately...

So far this winter we have had 4 instances of hurricane force winds, once with the wind speed (not gusts, average) being well over 90 m.p.h. I've lived where I do for 7.5 years and it's been about the same every year...

Also, we have very little daylight, while the sunset and sunrise times are similar to much of the uk, it just doesn't get very bright in between, to ride times are restricted to around 10 till 1430, and as I'm at at/going to school from 8-1630 during the week, and at weekends have to do 2 hours on a morning (I work best in the am), I quite often miss out.

    Summers are good though!

I'm at school, not an option. I'm happy where I am, and I will be leaving to go to uni.

Where in Scotland do you live!? I know many a Scotch lad that would beat you to a pulp for your excuses! The wind just makes you stronger, and lights were invented to help with dark places

They'd beat you to a pulp for referring to them as "Scotch" too.

  • No resolutions for me... Commitment just isn't my thing.

That said, I have put on a shit ton of weight and have only ridden about 5 times since the CC2CC, so my aim this year is to ride more and lose a whole shit ton more weight than I put on.
