Quick query re OSM for the Garmin 800 I've just taken delivery of.
I've used openstreetmap creating a file for microSD for the all UK map which seems to have uploaded correctly. Will hopefully try it out in the next few days.
If I wanted to add mapping for France at a later date can I download in the same way and add it to the Garmin file on the SD card or do I need to repeat the exercise and create a single file with maps for both the UK and France?
Would appreciate any advice, thanks

Can do either but you may need to rename the France map file. As long as it keeps the .img at the end any name will doAnd the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made.0

You don't need to bother with the tile conversion process for UK maps.
