Gabba jacket or gabba convertible ?

Is the convertible jacket worth getting? I mean can you zip the arms off and use all year round or will it be too hot in spring/summer to use as a short sleeve top?

I went with short sleeve version with matching arm warmers, no regrets.

I have the convertible for versatility - isn't quite as weatherproof due to the zips though. The double-layer of fabric over the shoulders helps bear the brunt of weather. I've worn mine in fairly mild conditions and didn't cook.
