I use the Garmin Edge 200 which is mounted on the bike stem, but it moves about when out on the bike everything is fitted as per the instructions, so anyone got any fixes for this?

check it has the little rubber thingymajig under the mount to stop it moving about (bottom right in pic)

    or buy a dedicated mount...

Sram do a cheapish one these days, for 31.8mm bars

    and there are others too

I got this exact one as above suggests. so much better than stem mounting. You get a lot better view of it when on the lower grips. I actually think it clicks in better than the standard garmin mount so I know its not going to fall off.
  • I used to have the SRAM one, but recently 'upgraded' to the K-Edge one (http://www.merlincycles.com/k-edge-comp ... 65970.html). The SRAM one was annoying me as it flexed a little too much when pushing buttons on the unit. This K-Edge one; although more expensive, is a lot more sturdy and looks tons better in Red.

But note that none of these are in any way actually necessary. Either, as Maddog says, you are missing the rubber insert bit or you need to use shorter O rings. There's nothing at all wrong with the standard mounts.

Also have the SRAM mount and had no issues at all. Plus it looks cool and positions it in a better place.

  • +1 for the k-edge mount.Nicely made and sits the Garmin in a (slightly) better position to glance down at.

The little rubber thingymajig under the mount is in place but due to the shape of the stem it does not sit fully, where does one get shorter O rings.
The stem is similar in shape to the one below.

They come with the Garmin. You normally get two sets; one longer and one shorter as such.

I found the o-rings on my mount a little too big so used the o-rings on crud roadracers which tightened things up. I can chuck a couple in the post if needed.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

or cut a few squares of old inner tube and put that underneath?

The out front mounts are a good idea, as they allow you to look at the numbers by just moving your eyes, and nowadays they aren't silly money.

Took the mount off the stem and the O ring bands are stretched, so anyone know if i can get two new O ring bands for the mount its the larger bands that come with the computer.

  • I bought a bar fly 2.0 mount and I find it much easier to use than the standard mount. The computer is in a much more natural place for you to just glance at it than it was when on the bars
