Waterproof phone case

Hi. All I want is a waterproof phone pouch to securely attach to the front straps of my rucksack. I don't need to answer or make calls but want it protected and handy in case of a bad "off". Any ideas? Most of then seem to be on lanyards. Steve

Use a lanyard one and stick it in your pocket instead. (Thigh pocket if you have one as a hip one is likely to result in broken phone if you go over on that side)
Most of the big off's I've had have involved landing heavily on my chest, and I'm glad a mobile phone wasn't there to a)hurt me more and b)break on impact rendering itself uselessBikes:

If you're not going to use for GPS etc it just pop it in a sealable sandwich bag and put it somewhere safe in your rucksack.Current:

Bought this for a mate who is off to Thailand and it looked pretty good when it turned up0

Cheap , easy and water proof, do the same thing myself0 -
Just make sure you get the right bags, without the little holes in them - made this mistake before and it cost me a phone :-(Bikes:

Just seen half a dozen photos uploaded by said friend and he looks to be about 50yards out to sea so I'm guessing the pouch works lol0 -
Cheers. I normally keep it in a waterproof bag in my rucksack, but often I am on call and cant hear it ring! Thigh pocket ok but I slide out more often then go over handlebars. Just thought there maybe a neater solution as thousands of walkers, cyclists etc. must have same problem.0

Depends on the value of your phone I suppose, but I personally wouldn't trust my £300+ iphone in a sandwich bag or something on ebay for £4.00. Go Outdoors do a waterproof pouch for iphones/smartphones for about £30.00 which gets decent review on 'tinternet. If you're clever, you can probably get them to price match it for about £20.00 and get a further 10% off it which makes it a good buy. It has a headphone jack, apparently you can hear it ring and have full use of the touchscreen too.

if you want to use the phone for phone use only and not gps emails etc have a look at the samsung gt b2100

A ziplock sandwich bag is waterproof enough - if you want more protection then sure get something padded or with a hard shell but the basic principal is keep it dry so why not a sandwich bag or for added luxury a freezer bag?Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
