I am considering adding a fixie to my bike collection to add a bit of variety to it all. Any recommendations greatly appreciated as there seems to be quite a choice available. Mainly to be used to add a bit of variety to my training/ fitness regime.

    Genesis Flyer for £529.00 Click

I've got a Genesis Skyline which is the older model of this but with mudguard eyes and it's a great bike

Just seen this Revolution Track 13 for £259.00 available in 52cm & 55cm

Gets some good reviews on the net even though it's a tad heavier than the Genesis

Thanks for the replies. There are some decent bikes in this price range and for my use I will probably end up purchasing or buying one with Bull horns fitted, bearing in mind the amount of time I spend on the drops on my road bike. Never used toe clips before, do most people just switch for clip less?
  • I use Time ATAC ROC Pedals on my fixed gear bikes, good pedals for riding fixed in my opinion.

The basic model doesn't have any type of tension adjustment though.

If you're short, I've got a Dawes Mono (50) you're welcome to borrow for a week or 3. I'm just outside Ely so not far from you...

Condor Tempo is lovely and On-One Pompino is always excellent vfm. Mudguuard options are good because you can get a winter ride with no gear problems apart from choosing the right sprocket. Fixed stuff is cheap/expensive depending on your budget and you get a great workout. 50 miles on a fixie certainly makes you review your cycling re fitness/gearing etc

Offer still stands if you want to try one.
I'll be selling it shortly if you're interested, nowhere near the cost of a new bike...

How about building one? Might be slightly more expensive but you are likely to have better components than the usual stock crap.

I did consider building one but finding the time would be the issue, with work and family it's hard enough trying to find time to ride!

Just want to see the best available in my price range at the moment, although I realize that means lower quality components but hopefully will be sufficient for my needs.
