broken left hand tiagra shifter :(

the inner part of the changer as broken up,and at the moment I cant find a single left level

now options are if I was to buy a pair 105 10speed levers and for £20 more than the tiagra set ,will these work with a 9 speed block on the back?
or will I have to change to 10 speed block and chain

you'd have to change cassette and chain to use 10-speed levers

there are umpteen sets of used 9-speed shifers on ebay, sora, tiagra, 105, ultegra

for instance...

You can use any left lever mind, as long as you don't care about having a matching set. So if you can find a left 105 lever or something then you're away.
