Hi been road biking for many years, at the weekend I did a few trails at cardinham woods and loved it. I got the bug so now I want a half decent mtb . I have been looking at the voodoo hoodoo some really good reviews but a friend of a friend has a project bike he's selling spec is- Treck 6000 frame
St suntour xcr remote folks
Alex rims, specialized hubs, Halo wheel skewers
Halo twin rail tyres
Shimano deore gear shifter, derailers and crank
Avid juicy 5 disc brakes with shimano discs
Truvativ hussefelt handle bars and stem.
So basically I have around £400 to spend and would like any advice given. Thanks

I would go for the voodoo, mainly because it has a better fork and is new.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

This seems to be exactly what your after and currently only £339 with a discount card so quite a bargain and tbh looks like a more future proof bike.
Like you just got back into mountain biking and have spotted the Cardinham trails, they look great!!!! I know thier doing some work at the moment but what did you think?

Everything is good on the trek apart from the forks which are quite frankly abominable... Don't know anything about the frame, may be good, may not be...0
