What road bike?

Looking to buy a road bike with a sub £3000 budget.i have got a trip to the Alps planned next year,and therefore need something suitable for climbing and long days in the saddle,any suggestions?,don't mind if it's a 2013 or 14 model.

6'1" around 14.5 stone always had Giant fancy something a bit mor exotic like Specialized,Pinarello or Cannondale.having used it before would say Ultegra as a minimum.

I dont suggest certain bikes. who am I to tell you what to ride? I would say look for all the bjkes that fit that geo type. Specialized Roubaix, Bianchi Infinito are probably 2 of the finest sportive bikes around. but best you go to some shops and try some out. You may find something you neve thought of before thsy suites you perfect. For sportives comfort is key.

Just a Giant defy 3 with 105, had a Trek madone 4.5 which I sold in the Spring to allow me to pursue mtb more seriously,but now regretting that decision.The Giant makes a good winter bike but need something decent for the new season.

If you liked your Madone then why not get another one?

You can get a 5.2 for £2800 bob on budget.
