Right i know most of you on here dont like them but i preffer the feel of Crank brother clip in pedals, but my old candys are dead now and need some replacements, and with the new frame coming ive decided im gonna get them over xmas, which would you go for?
Egg Beaters?
Candys?
or Mallets?
I do mainly trail center, XC and commuting to work, im just not too sure so would like peoples opinions
Thanks in advance!

candy 3 or higher if you can spare the extra cash
eggbeaters may be too fragile for commute and to unstable for trail.
mallets may be too heavy for anything but trail.
have a look at the shimano spd trail(the one with the cage) pedals
cheaper/ will not disappoint!0 -
Had SPD from shimano before and the killed my knees. Hence why I use the crank brothers :-)0

Used eggbeaters for years for xc trail with no probs. never found fragile or unstable. Also used them for an 1800 mile tour with no probs. got mallets too, on my 160 mm 'big' bike which are good, but heavy. I've tried spds and they're good, tough and durable but get on better with crank bros.0

Ive got candya now but they're screwed now. But they where base level ones.. mighy do for them again just a higher model I think, my problem with egg beeters is that im not the the lightest of riders!0

i use the eggs for xc and i also do some cyclocross for fun but i use candys to get the footing first. If unclipping is often, use the candys. Hope this helps. Try not to touch the lower end models, the higher tier models are worth the extra and they last longer and work betterBattaglin 3 Cime

You could try Time pedals instead: most of the feel of CBs but with the reliability of Shimano. Aliums are cheap-ish and last forever.0

I have been using eggbeater stainless steel version for 8-9 years now and love them, couldn't quite get spds to feel right, eggbeaters are far from fragile,i am 14.5st and have used these on a spesh enduro in the alps, and rode it like it's meant to of been, just regreased them regular0
