Hi,
Just wondered what the opinion was on this frame and if anyone had any alternative suggestions.
http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/FROO456E2/on-one-456-evo2-frame
Need to stay 26" wheels, 120mm travel forks, 30.9 on the seat tube, hardtail and doing trail riding.
thanks,
Dan

Good frames, well respected, paint quality a bit iffy, what usage?Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Looking at the matt black frame, trails/xc mostly.

For XC/ trail use and 120 forks I'd stick with a lighter alloy frame.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Im picking up an One On inbred in the new year, from what ive read theyre really good frames!
Also a seatpost doesnt cost much dude, dont let that take you away from a frame0 -
Budget? Personally I'd look for a good used one on eBay or in the classifieds.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I've had my 30.9mm rockshox reverb all of 1 day and it was expensive enough..... it was during the hose shortening bleed that the blooming thing fell :evil:The Rookie wrote:Budget? Personally I'd look for a good used one on eBay or in the classifieds.

if only it wasn't such an awful paint job
On the Cotic BFe i'm wondering how it would be with only a 120mm non-tapered fork, don't want the fork to look out of place.0 -
It will look fine - the Cotics geo is almost exactly the same as my Zaskars.0

no love for the 456? I like the angles and wouldn't need to shim the post
it does look nice http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=12942583&hilit=cotic+bfe#p185478210 -
The 456 is cheaper, but it is heavier.0

that it though? you'd still say it was a move up from the rockhopper in my sig0 -
Oh, you plan to replace the frame? I'd keep what you have, is light, well respected!0

I also run a 1 1/8th fork in a 1.5 steerer and it doesn't look out of placeCurrent:

brilliant, just about to place my order for the Cotic but just need to make sure my fork steerer will be long enough aswell as decided between 17.5" or 19" frame.0 -

It'd do nicely as a 4x bike, probably not what you're after for riding trails with though.0 -

I have had a rockhopper and a 456. The rockhopper is a much better frame. Lighter, less harsh, better built and wont go rusty.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
