Shimano RS80 water ingress
I've just stripped the tyres and tubes off a set of RS80s and I noticed a fair amount of water in the rim, I stripped the rim tape and there was water within the rim and visible corrosion on the alloy, on closer inspection some of the carbon laminate seems to have bubbled close to the valve hole.
I don't actually use them that much and I probably only got caught out a couple of times in the wet.
They seem a popular wheel so I was just wondering if anybody else has had the same issue.

Pretty much all rims collect a bit of water and only few have holes to let it out... typically this is not an issue, as the water will get out eventually, but if you leave the bike in a shed after one of these rides, then corrosion can become a problem.left the forum March 20230
