+1 for these, feel nice and snug and sharp, if socks can be sharp. I of course have them in white because there is no other colour you should wear
Weirdly I have some lucky race socks which are black shock horror, and they're quite thick and squishy, no logic, they're just lucky I tell you.0 -

How do you know they're lucky if you never wear them?0 -

When I first started riding I thought most cycling clothing looked a bit weird.
I know understand why and can appreciate it for its functionality.
But socks! Surely anything that protrudes above the line of the shoe just makes you look like a primary school child.
Shoe liners only for me. Cheap from M&S. Who cares. No one sees them.
In winter just wear thin walking socks under your tights.0 -
Socks should always be black as should shoes (we are not playing tennis you know  )
Prendas are my go to sock supplierCoach H. (Dont ask me for training advice - 'It's not about the bike')0 -

Studies have shown that people wearing white shoes tend to win more often because they look better. Looking good is the equivalent of winning; it's science.I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0 -
Yepp, those Bonts look lovely and will be nicely topped off with black socks.
I am a black sock person in the winter but white only in the summer I'm afraid. I would have bought shoes to match white socks, not the other way around0 -

on the way which would look like the dogs dinner with white socks, so black it has to be I'm afraid
FT like the look of those Rapha ones - very good length just a bit pricey. Defeet ones also look good but not a fan of the white bits on them

Capo and SockGuy make good socks too.
Its a shame you can't go for white socks.. I really want some Strava onesSloppySchleckonds wrote:Coach H wrote:Socks should always be black as should shoes (we are not playing tennis you know  )

hmm I wear white shoes (very white shoes in fact) and I won a race. Makes sense (also note my excellent white socks)

I am pretty sure there is no difference whatsoever between summer socks... not sure what a "race sock" is supposed to do better than a "training or touring sock"left the forum March 20230

It about looks. There are unwritten rules that you probably don't care to follow, but I do, hence why I'm asking people what the best race socks are.
Ahh, of course I do... I have some awesome flemmish flagged socks for winter and some belgian ones (light blue/ belgian flag) for summer... as well as some Italian ones, that would look silly on you but are OK on myself.
I though you were after a performing sock...
You might want to try and find some black socks with a belgian motif somewhere...left the forum March 20230 -
Also these Prendas ones would match your shoes:

and they have the plain version

So the word "race" really has no meaning to you? It's all about showoff - bling? FWIW I've never looked at any cyclist's socks and said to myself "Wow, I've really got to get myself a snazzy pair like that".
They're socks, and contrary to popular belief it's clothes that make the man - not socks. :roll:0 -

Looks like someone didn't read the technical information in the DeFeet Aireator DeLine socks linked to on the first page of the thread. They are not going to work under a pair of tights, are they?0 -
Rapha so much nicer than DeFeet, and come in Chartreuse!0

Yep, already recommend, but the Rapha Pro socks are a treat for your feet.“Faster, Faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.” Hunter S Thompson0
