A few years ago I bought the above trainer, it was cheap and to be honest I have hardly used it.

The trainer even on max resistance and in top gear (compact 11:50) isn't that tough, I get a sweat going but I'm not sure the unit really offers enough resistance.

Has anyone upgraded in the past to a trainer circa 300 quid and found it a worthwhile investment in terms of resistance offered and the overall feel? I'm thinking jet fluid pro, but I don't want to purchase a non variable unit that offers no more resistance in my top gear then the elite, ideally I want top gear to feel like hell?

Thanks for thoughts in advance

IMO if you want a turbo this is all you need as it has loads of resistance and is a bargain right now.

However I also have some X Resist alu Rollers from PX and they give equally as much resistance but are more fun than a turbo - depends what you want as you could spend £300 but I am not sure if you will notice the difference. £300 is a lot for something that may just end up getting dusty in the garage....

I have the same trainer and IME if it is not that hard on the highest resitance and highest gear there is something wrong with the trainer, unless you are Superman. :)
