West Kent Road Club present their 2014 reliability trials on Sunday 12th January 2014.
Where from: Horton Kirby Cricket Club, Franks Lane off the A225 and two miles from J 3 of the M25 and J1 of the M20.
Good causes supported: all Profit shared equally between – The Kent, Surrey and East Sussex Air Ambulance Trust, Demelza House providing care to children with terminal illness and the Dave Rayner Fund which supports young riders wanting to ride on the continent and get a pro contract, Dan Martin of Garmin Sharp being one example. Last year we distributed £900.
What time does it start etc: The HQ opens at 08:30 and the riders taking part in the 50 miles start from 09:00 in groups of no more than 10 riders and those riding the 30 miler from 09:30. Do not use the small car park as this is for event officials etc.
What is the entry fee: £5 for either event.
What do I get: a certificate stating whether you got round in the chosen time i.e. 3hrs, 3.5hrs or 4hrs for the longer route or 2hrs/2.5hrs/3hrs for the 30 miler.
Entry: this is on the day only. Riders under 16 must either ride with one of their parents or guardian and have completed a parental consent which can be downloaded from the CTC website: http://www.ctc.org.uk and present on the day. Not open to under 12’s. Riders are encouraged to wear a cycling helmet in good order as must be the bike. Riders are advised to have 3rd party insurance in place be it CTC, BC or via their house insurance or other channel. Riders are reminded they must obey the highway code at all times for your own protection, in case of claims, and for the well being of others.
Refreshments: there will be some available before the start and plenty afterwards which will be charged for.
Riders will get route instructions and the routes will be signed. Downloads will appear soon on the club website.
