Not particularly 22 speed, though I could go that route eventually.

I have full Red Black.

Am I right in assuming that, arguments about needing to aside, the correct order of priority should be:

1. Front Yaw Mech

2. Exogram Chainset

3. Rear Mech

4. Shifters

5. Brakes.

Your prioritisation list looks spot on. But I think you will need the Yaw derailleur and Exogram crankset to get the full benefit of the technology.

Be sure to get the SRAM Yaw front derailleur and not Yaw22. Yaw in 10 speed is compatible with the older 10 speed groupsets. Yaw22 works, but you can't adjust out the chain rub defeating the object of smoother transitions between gears.

You don't need to replace everything to get the benefits of Yaw as your old shifters will work perfectly well with a Yaw derailleur as will the crank set or Q Rings if you have them. If you did go the Yaw22 route, then you would need to change just about everything. With SRAM's electronic groupset on the horizon, is it a worthwhile upgrade though?
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.
  • Worthwhile? Dunno, doubt my frame would take electronic all that easy though. But I think, for now, it will be yaw 10 and 10 speed Exo. Really not all that interested in 11 speed. I might go wifli though
