Cranks

I need a new set of cranks for my Mega.
With a budget of £100ish what would be the best choice.
72mm bottom bracket
Double and bash (I have a bash guard)
Must have 104mm pcd chain ring holes.
I prefer Shimano HT2 bottom brackets but SRAM GXP aren't too bad.
I'm running 9 speed at the moment but will change to 10 speed eventually.
Is SLX the best option or is there something better for the price?

That is a good price. Enough budget leftover for a gallon of cider :-)
Are the Raceface Chester cranks good?

Merlin currently have xt triples for £99.99, flog the rings and you'll get £30 quid back, I got a pair for £90 a few weeks back, sold my old cranks and the new rings, needed a new BB anyway so they effectively didn't cost me anything!0

Doesn't come with a bash but it's the newer version for the same price:

No, it can't take a bash - the spider's shape and thickness rule it out.0 -
I see what you mean. Thats no good as it is but half an hour with a mill and it will take a bash.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

That's just stupid. Buy the XT0

SLX are cheaper than XT which leaves me cider money.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

£10. Have other money for cider.0

For £10 extra I'd go Xt. Think they'd look better on your Mega than Slx and you'll probably get more for the rings as well.0
