Changing my gp4000 tyres

What tyres would you recommend? Lookin for tidy "all rounder" type road tyres, not ultra soft racing shít but not super heavy duty tyres with crap roll resistance either. Thinking of going for the Michelin pro 4s. Would the SC tyres be more durable than the gp4000s or should I try the Endurance?

Seem like a good compromise tyre, here's hoping anyway.

  • I am glad someone else spotted that. Surprised noone sniffed him out sooner tbh.
  • I went from GP 4000s to PRo4 Endurance this winter to see if they wore better (not that GP4000s were bad I just wondered) the Pro4's don't feel any different in terms of grip maybe a little less supple but there's not much in it. Its hard to tell if they are wearing better though as I have started using bike paths more on my commuting and unsurprisingly the Pros have got several annoying cuts!

I keep recommending Bontrager Race Lite Hard Case tyres but they're obviously too heavy for commuter racing and not supple enough, especially with the 20mph hairpin bends we often have to b0llock around on the way into work. I certainly get dropped every day solely because of the weight and lack of suppleness. Besides, £14 is probably too cheap for a high performance tyre.

Hmmm, if the gatorskins prove no good may try these next, can't see them for £14 though. Enjoyed the sarcasm.

All Terrain Cycles sell'em for £13.49 each.

Not as nice to ride on as a racing tyre but I find Schwalbe Marathon Plus a pleasure to ride, so what do I know?
