Hey everyone,

I need some advice on whether the following set-up is worth £300. I have been bike-less for over a year now and it has been a torture to say the least. Funds are limited so I am turning to used bike. I found this upgraded Boardman:

Forks - Rock shox Revelation Dual air 140 travel
Wheel set - Alex rim / Brand x hub
Bars Answer 788mm
Crankset - FSA (FSA Moto)- with black sapphire rings
Chain Newish KTM
Cassette Newish Sram
ShiftersSram x5
Front derailleur - Sram x5
Rear derailleur - Sram x7
Front break - Shimano Deore
Rear break - Avid Elixer
Seat -Superstar new
Stem - Superstar short stem
Pedals - Nukeproof
Tyres - New bontrager rear and baron front

What do you think? Is it worth a bit of haggling and a 2 hour trip each way?

Well the upgrades aren't really adding much value, and the forks are unsuitable for the frame, very much depends on age and condition, but unless it's pretty good it is £50 overpriced and you need to budget a fork swap for something more suitable. How old is it?
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Well according to the guy its a 2010/11 frame, with no dents or any physical damage minus a few paint chips.

Id say its worth every penny if not heavily used and whats wrong with the forks ?

It comes with 130mm forks another 10mm wont make any difference and they are great forks !

I'm pretty sure the 2010 had 100mm travel.

Then it isn't a 2010, which had 100mm Recon. 2011 came with an Epicon.

From the comments, I get the impression that 140mm is an overkill in this case.

So is it safe to say i should stay away from this pick? I am a bit out of the loop at the moment in terms of what is better so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Impossible to say until you've either seen the bike, or got proper information.
    Sounds like a possible mongrel.
