cleat-hole-less overshoes?

Does anyone know if such things exist?: Overshoes for normal trainers so without the holes for cleats? I use toe clip pedals and get cold feet so am thinking of some overshoes. Thanks.

Large socks?0

Right, but one of the advantages of overshoes is that they're wind (and water) proof I think. Socks wouldn't do that.0

Regardless of whether the overshoes have cleat holes or not (I doubt if you will find any that dont) then you will destroy them in a very short time anyway, because you will be walking and pedalling on the overshoe itself...0

Yeah you'll wear holes in the sole with the pedal.
You could try neopreney type socks, or toe covers - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/33106619 ... =95&ff19=0
- or come over to the dark side. Clipless is so much better than straps. I found straps worse in the winter for restricting blood flow.0 -
Have a look at some gore-tex trail running or hiking trainers and maybe gaiters?0

Biemme do overshoes without cleat holes:

Maybe not entirely what you're looking for though, as they have a large gap for straps/laces and (not entirely obvious from a quick glance at the image) a smaller gap on the upper surface.0 -

Do you know for certain that those overshoes do not have cleat holes?0 -
Gore Windstopper soft shell overshoes don't have cleat holes. They do cover part of the underneath of the shoe though...I'd be surprised if you can find any that don't because I can't imagine how they'd stay in place otherwise.

You say the Gore Windstopper overshoes 'don't have cleat holes' - but in your attached pic they obviously do. If an overshoe didn't have cleat holes, it would just be a big sock.0

I assumed the OP was after something that left as much of the sole of the shoe touching the pedal as possible, like the one below. As a sock would make no sense as it'd just get torn up right away. Anyway...it's another option.

They definitely don't - if it had been mentioned in the description, I wouldn't have ordered a pair! The only way they seemed able to fit with cleats was upside down, and then were just a glorified pair of toe covers.0 -
IMO the best option is to just get some warm trainers. Overshoes without holes in the bottoms will just wear rapidly from the pedals and the toe straps will probably tear up the tops. And with the high prices of bike gear I suspect a decent pair of warm trainers would cost about the same or not much more than overshoes.0

I've got some Chapak Mustang goretex overshoes that came with a full and fairly robust rubber sole, with cut-out lines for SPD or Look cleats. I got them from Mike Dyason, who retired and sold out to In Motion Products.
I believe that Chapak (French brand) have gone bust, but the overshoes are still listed at Cycles-Vincent in Lille0
