Excellent spec for the money - almost worth having it posted if not in the area!
So could be about £800 with postage and wheels :shock:0 -
Triple or compact is just personal preference based on riding style and where you ride. For me triple leads to too many front gear changes but equally it would get you up any hill easily.0

I have a standard 53-38 with 12-23 cassete which seems fine for the hills in North Wales. Only said compact as they seem to be the new standard for new bikes.0

Back to the OP's request - 400 quid budget - new road bike.
Staying on that track I'd agree that 400 quid is not a lot of dosh, but now is the time to buy a 500 or 550 quid bike for that sort of money.
The deals that Wiggle are doing on the Felt range are fantastic, and, as a brand you generally get more bang for your buck with Felt anyway. The F95 is a 650 quid bike for only 400 quid. Just so long as the OP can get it in the size required, that's what I'd be looking at!!0 -

Agree on the 1.1 (both 2013 and 2014) but I quite like the 2013 1.2. It's a nice looking bike and decent spec for £550.

The evans spec says it has 2300 levers but they are 2013 Sora.0 -

Swear that it was originally listed with the wheels - not worth £600 without them! I must read the ads a little more closely. :oops:0 -
Planet X have a tigara bike for £599, gone 200 quid over bugdet now though.0

Forget big brand s- they all tend to be lower spec for the price - as already mentioned, go Merlin -
