Bike problem that irritates me! [Elite Disc 2013]

I have had my Specialized Elite Disc 2013 for 1 year and 2 months...

I love it, but...

I have a rather loudish rattle, clinky, tapping noise while riding (like the cables of a flagpole/yacht mast in the wind). The awesome part is that the noise stops when I take either hand off the handlebar, or if I stop pedaling. How the mary can these be related? If I lean forward and down to try and locate the source, it also stops. There is no noise at all if I pedal the cycle while not on it, or shake the bike trying to find the source.

I am going crazy!!!!

    Spesh what model Elite? Sirrus?
    I would check the hoses and cables under the downtube. Put some bubble wrap under them to see if it changes.

    I would definitely start by putting something under the hoses beneath the downtube. It doesn't have to be pretty yet, this is just diagnosing. See if the noise changes when you ride.
