After a pair of gloves to add to Christmas list on the wife's insistance as a present for the kids to give me
I have mitts - getting old but too cold to wear at the moment so will replace in Spring. Have a pair of SealSkinz waterproof ones for commuting, but they are far too hot for XC and stuff. Hands get quite sweaty in them despite being 'breathable'.
Need something light-ish. Good padding on palms for up to 4/5 hour rides etc. Keep fingers warm but not too hot.
Any ideas? See stuff online but without trying on it is difficult to assess how they will perform.

Thanks. Ideally I want something with a padded palm otherwise I find my hands get quite achey after a while.

Great gloves. Got these in the end. They're called 'Dexter'. Maybe I should take up serial killing now ;-)
Just right. A little on the cool side at the start but hand soon warm up within ten minutes and remained perfect for rest of the ride in temps of around 4 deg above freezing. Padding just about right too and had no hand fatigue during ride. Bonus is you can use iphone with them although this is not a specified feature but it just works.
About £25 from Evansisis'sSometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

It was I, the OP, or as you so kindly put it 'idiot', who revived the thread commenting on what gloves I finally decided on and how I found that they performed at a given temperature and ride, and that I was very happy with this choice as suggested by a forum member.Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Keep your summer ones, but wear one or two pairs of latex gloves under them- that will keep you warm!0
