London to Newcastle 24

30 - 31 August 2014

300 miles due north from London – Newcastle is the destination. The route heads out to the east – across the low lying flat lands of Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire – with long straight roads ensuring a keen pace – but the smart will conserve their energy and strength for the hills further north. The sun will dip and night time arrives as we pass through remote villages and speed through the quiet English countryside, before hitting the historic city of Lincoln, over the Humber and onto York as the hills get a little sharper. As dawn arrives – the iconic Angel of the North will soon be in our sights, as we near the end of our ride. Finishing on the banks of the Tyne, under the shadow of the Gateshead Millennium Bridge – the start in London will seem a long time ago. A lot can happen in 24 hours - and you'll see a lot of Britain on your Ride 24.

Comments

  • That's insane, although does appeal to me living near Newcastle :); although given that it seems to assume you're in London and not Newcastle for the transport arrangements.
  • Hi Mark,

We try to cater for the majority. Currently the majority are those living in a more southern geographical location, however you have raised a point that we have considered in the past and may well consider in the future again.

    Have very merry Christmas!
