Thanks to the good people at Prendas I'm stuck in a major heart v head quandary.
Having Amazoned the cack out of Dr Who and Star Wars I thought a new cycling top would make nice change.
I could get him:-
cool as fook
Or what he wants
Just in case you doubt his credentials, here he is (blue cap) with his team signing autographs

As a 9 yr old, this is one of the few times in life when it will be okay for him to wear a Sky jersey. Do the right thing.

don't go second best, give the kid what he wants, he'll never forget it
Source: I was given a fake kit of my football team when I was a kid, when I really wanted 'the real thing'. I understand money was tight, but still...
It's just a hill. Get over it.0 -
I guess the question is are you buying for you or for him?
I took my eldest to a Millwall match. Now that is far worse than a SKY top.0 -
Neither. Get him something very camp in pink. Then after that, he will appreciate every present you give him from then on.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

My son and I have season tickets for our local football team ....
My son is young enough to get away with wearing the replica shirt, I gave up on that one years ago!
Ya gotta go Team Sky my friend .... For the boyStill thinking of something clever to say!0 -
I manned up and the Sky jersey will be unwrapped at Christmas.
Now he needs to sharpen up his road skills, cos he ain't riding with me!0 -
You made the right call. You have to remember - retro is cool now becuase it's what was modern when you were a kid[urlhttp://veloviewer.com/SigImage.php?a=f3252&r=3&c=5&u=I&g=s&f=abcdefghij&z=a.png]Veloviewer[/url]0

I hope you bought at least 3 sizes too big so he gets the maximum amount of wear out of it before it becomes too small.
I snowboard with my lad, he's just turned 14. It's a major pain having to buy new kit every year as last years no longer fits.
Thank heavens for Ebay. 8)0 -

Just to follow this up.
I bought one size too big, and it was teeny tiny.
So even though non-tubby jnr couldn't put the Sky top on, he was still nevertheless very excited to receive one.
(Now for the customary bigging up of Prendas)
I sent the jersey back explaining the situation, not only did the fabulous chaps send out a bigger one immediately, it arrived here on New Years Eve. They also threw in a Prendas GB cap.
So that was jnr clothed for the day, he even put a jumper on to eat food!!
Turns out my LBS has a 650 Trek.
It could be that Jnr will be turning into my nemesis, by the time next season comes around.0 -
Due to the specialist nature of their business they will never receive national recognition but Prendas are without doubt one of the best companies I've ever dealt with.0
