Turbo Trainer - Have I killed it?

Just noticed my turbo trainer has a nice groove worn into the centre of the fly wheel, all the smooth coating has gone and it almost looks like the metal has got bubbles in. It looks like it's been melted, although I don't know if it would get as hot as that or not? 90mins at steady, low speed and this has happened. I guess the tire must have been too tight onto the flywheel, although I've done quite a few shorter sessions with no apparent sign of problems.

So, have I killed it, is it repairable, or do I need a new one?

The photos don't quite show the depth of the groove (probably 1mm or so) but hopefully they show the damage clear enough.
