What saw?

I have a rusted bottle-cage bolt that won't shift and my allen key is just spinning - so it must be rounded. Other folks tell me I need to cut a small slit in the head and use a screwdriver to get it out. Is there a particular saw recommended?

well it all depends on what the problem is.

have you rounded out the allen head?

or is the bolt just spinning with the rivnut?

Ive rounded out the allen-head. So the allen key doesn't grip when I turn it.

You could try another new Allen key or an imperial size Allen key which might grip better. If not a Junior hacksaw with a new good quality blade Eclipse or Sandvik are 2 good brands, cheap blades are a no no you need to push too hard increasing chance of slipping. Tape frame round bolt so if you slip you dont damage frame and paint.

Also try a Torx bit or epoxy an old allen key to the screw head
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • If you can get one on the head of the bolt use a pair of mole grips, obviously if you got a bottle cage mounted you got no chance!

Aye bottle cage is still on there. The little screw is rusted and has come a little lose to the point the cage rattles. It's a pita :)
  • Screw extractors. Get some of these http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165572

Drill a small hole and the screw extractor will get it out.

Edit same thing but cheaper :Dhttp://www.screwfix.com/p/screw-extract ... -set/18643

A torx bit did the job for me in the few bolts i've rounded, might have to hammer it to get it to fit in.
