Thermal gloves.
My dads asked me if I could get him a decent pair of thermal gloves for winter (he likes walking on the fells etc) as he's getting on a bit now and really suffers from cold fingers (they get so cold they hurt). Was thinking about a pair of Thinsulate but wondered if anybody had any other recommendations.

If they're for walking, and you don't need the kind of dexterity you need for riding a bike, then Sports Direct have a good selection of inexpensive ski gloves. The lobster claw types give more versatility than a mitten, but more warmth than five finger gloves.
