    According to one study, the total cost to society of smoking may exceed the revenue from taxation by several billion. Leaving aside, of course, the morality of selling a product that causes the premature deaths of half its regular users.

    Banning smoking. Thinking of the prohibition era in the USA. For the historians out there how did that pan out? Given we can't stop people from taking crack then I don't think that an outright smoking ban would be so successful.
