SRAM Brake Calipers Lateral Adjustment

For the lateral adjusting screws to centre the caliper, is it an advantage to wind them all the way out or in before beginning adjustment?
All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!

    i've not done that, don't think it'd make a difference

    i just check that the calipers are free to pivot and there's no pressure from the cable pushing it off centre

    oh and make sure the wheel is fully seated the dropouts before adjusting, which i forgot once
    my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny
