... cranberry sauce, pumpkin, sweet potato, pecan pie... greens, baked beans and gravy mean anything to the Brits?

A corruption of the Thanksgiving taken from England to the Colonies by the Pilgrims.

Isnt it strange that in the U.S. the day after everyone celebrates being grateful for what they have, they then go on a shopping spree on Black Friday.
    Strange.

    Thanksgiving.

    I don't get it.

    Must be an American thing.

    PS: too much pumpkin.

It's just a hill. Get over it.

    Thanksgiving is a Christian thing.

    Thats the difference.

Not sure I like the sound of baked beans with gravy :? maybe something lost in translation?

Baked beans with turkey? The idea of baked beans with what's basically Christmas dinner sounds very wrong. Ditto sweet potato.

I don't think he means Heinz, it's green beans in front of the pumpkins

Still odd though, where's the sprouts and JW's

Likewise the roast parsnips, pud and rubbish crackers. All topped off with the traditional argument over the Monopoly, having a nap in the hope of blagging your way out of doing the washing-up*, and yet another repeat of The Italian Job. ;)
