tear in waterproof shorts

Morning
I have found a tear in my Altura Attack waterproof shorts and wondered what would be the best way to fix these.
Considered getting some of those iron on patches to stick on the inside but was a bit worried about making the hole worse of ruining the fabric.
Obviously waterproof shorts with holes in them just become "shorts", haven't had them long so don't want to fork out for new ones just yet and in this current season, they are a god send.
Anyone any ideas or had the same quandry and come up with a solution that works?

I was looking the same thing up the other day to repair a rip in my waterproof jacket... haven't tried it yet but: http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/hill-skill ... 509.html... Should work providing the iron isn't too hot.0

Duct tape. It's cheap and has worked for me on everything from motorcycle waterproofs to expensive mountaineering waterproof kit. Lasts for years as well.
I usually put a bit inside and outside.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
I have used iron on tape on a waterproof jacket and it worked fine. Trick is getting the iron the right temp too cool and it wont stick too hot and you risk scorching the fabric. I had it hot enough that I wouldnt want to touch it but not so hot that it would burn me if I touched it. The setting on my Mums iron was synthetics 60c iirc.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0

I’ve used Mcnett seam grip to repair a tear in my waterproof jacket, it made a neat and strong repair.

I was recommended sail repair tape to fix a rip in my waterproof jacket,eg

but I got a length off ebay. It's done a top notch job on a 10 inch gash. The jacket is used daily and the tape is sticking like the day I put it on.0 -
Instant inner tube patches, been working on my altura jacket for years. Survived multiple washes etc0
