Shimano Ultegra GS/Medium Rear Mech

Hi I am looking for bit of guidance, I would like to reuse the GS rear mech off my bike that currently has a triple chainset, when switching to a compact chainset whilst continuing to run the existing 11-28 cassette, would continuing to use this rear mech cause me problems and would I need to change it for the SS/Short version?

    Should be fine as long as the chain length is correct with the new set up.
