Is there a better rigid fork for the Genesis Io?
Does a bigger tyre help soften the ride?
Would better spokes or rims help?

The ride is harsh:) Until recent I have ridden a Raleigh Maverick with Racing Ralphs and Mavic 717 and double butted spokes.
The Io is great but it is a rougher ride.
The Maverick had a longer wheel base and the sweepy fork and Ralph 2.1 tyres.
The Io now has Ralph 2.1 tyres.
I think the problem is on the front end.
Its running standard wheels and fork.
Do I fit a wider tyre?
Rotational weight is an issue, (I think)
Would it help to change fork or wheel?
Or do I just get used to it?
  • How long have you had it?

I've ridden rigid recently and I think getting the right psi in the tyres is the main thing, bigger volume tyres can help a bit too. I ride mine at 30psi up front and about 32psi in the rear. My bike is a steel 26er with 2.25 or 2.3 tyres BTW. I'd only change (rigid) forks in get more clearance if thats an issue. Re-consider grips too.
