SKS Raceblades & Helicopter tape

Ive just bought a set of the short Raceblades that are fitted to the seat stays , without something between the stays and the fitting attachments Im sure the paint would be damaged by rubbing. If I put two layers of helicopter tape between them would this be enough to avoid damage to the paint on the stays ?

One would be plenty but electrical tape works fine and is a lot cheaper0
