I have the opportunity to purchase one of the two mentioned the Comp for £467.99 and the Team for £530, I just don't know which to have, I don't know much about bikes to be honest, I've spent the last few weeks searching and researching. Speaking to my local Halfords bike guy he says the Team is really good spec for around the same money as the Comp so I'm really confused any help appreciated oh and sorry I'm new lol hi to everyone

Definitely the team, you get an awful lot more for the extra £60! Worth it for the forks alone0

Ok thanks for the reply my only concern is to stay on the 26" wheel or move to the 29er, I've seen loads of comments on the death of the 26"2013 Boardman Team0

Both are 2013 models the Comp was built for a customer that never collected and the team was a display model have seen both and rode on them, the comp is immaculate but the team needs new grips and a good clean, he has told me it will look like new and have new grips and what ever it needs, it still gets 12 months warranty plus 2 years on the frame. I can't really argue for the price it's a nice bike read reviews all over, I know it's from Halfords but I think for the money I'm getting a lot of bike2013 Boardman Team0

Going in tomorrow to finally pick one and for the price sorry missed that out the comp is marked up at £584.99 I get 10% discount as of the 28th and further 10% for being a British cycling association member. The Team is £749.99 straight of he is giving me 15% then the same 20% in total that's a nice 35% off! I'm not to fussed they are this years models I had a budget of £500 so I think ive done well2013 Boardman Team0

Would 1" make much difference on the frame size, the Comp is a 18" and the Team is 19" I'm 5'102013 Boardman Team0

Team, without question! I'm about your height and the 19" is fine for me, but see what feels right to you0
-
Ok thanks all going in now to have another check and pay the deposit the steam it is I suppose £60 is no biggie for the extra spec2013 Boardman Team0
-
I'm 5' 10" (34" inside leg) and my Boardman's a medium 18", but I could easily have gone to the 19" large. My carrera hardtail's a 20".0

I got the 19" Team pick it up next week, but the wife says it's for Christmas so got a fight on my hands to ride it before then lol. Now all I need is roof bars and a cycle carrier been into Halfords and looked at Exodus, Thule and Halfords own, my thoughts are Halfords own roof bars then Exodus or Thule cycle carrier what does everyone else use or think off2013 Boardman Team0

My car boot, an old sheet and two bungee cords.0 -
Hahahaha yea fair one my boot a bit crap for that I don't wanna mess around, and heard people slag off boot carriers so wanna stay on the roof. At the moment it will be just my bike to and from camp, but later will be the wife's and sons2013 Boardman Team0

I had el cheapo rack and bars off Ebay. They worked fine. I now have Thule bars and racks which cost five times as much and work fine, but are much easier to put on and take off.I don't do smileys.

Yea that's what I'm thinking cheap roof bars but decent bike carrier at the end of the day security on the road and when left is worth the extra money2013 Boardman Team0
-
Cheap bars are more likely to scratch your paint though, if you've got a car you're bothered about.0
-
We'll I've been looking it's the clamps that sit on the actual car the bars sit above the roof so would that really matter? The ones for my car sit under my doors that's what I can see while researching2013 Boardman Team0
-
I meant the clamps. Some of the cheaper ones I looked at were pretty much guaranteed to trash your paint.0
-
Oh right yea sorry to be honest not looked any more into it yet but will be sure they have decent clamps, I did price up a full set with Exodus which after 10% discount! didn't seem to bad2013 Boardman Team0

So been in today and picked it up the Boardman Team, some kind of mix up was supposed to be getting the 2012/2013 model but I've ended up with the 2014 one for the same price so I paid £526 for the 2014 Team what a cracking deal I would say. I'm not sure what the differences are between the two models but I'm well happy2013 Boardman Team0
-
That's certainly a good price. Isn't it a £850 bike?0
-
Yea was supposed to be getting last years but they said that was my bike so I signed all the paper work and left I did question it but too late now2013 Boardman Team0
