Hello MTB,
We are a group of final year engineering students at the University of Brighton, and are working on a group project designing a new bike lock. Searching through this forum, I have seen that there are lot of experienced riders, many of whom fit our target audience perfectly! We would be really grateful if you could take a quick moment to answer the 10 questions on our tick box survey it would really help us a lot with our report. Thank you very much in advance!

Done.
Not as badly written as 90% of the student surveys posted on here.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Actually a decent questionnaire for once, other than the fact I couldn't complete it as I don't have a lock.0

That's worrying
Good survey but I couldn't fill it in as I don't own a lock either!!!"Arran, you are like the Tony Benn of smut. You have never diluted your depravity and always stand by your beliefs. You have my respect sir and your wife my pity"

I do own a lock from when I had a motorbike, but I don't leave my MTB anywhere, it's either at home, in my van or with my arse on it. I ride a less valuable bike if im riding into town.Bird Aeris. DMR Trailstar. Spesh Rockhopper pub bike.0

Not another bloody survey?
Except I can't even moan about the spelling and pidgin English, rather disappointed actually so I tried doing the survey.
Only problem is I don't leave my mountain bike(s) locked up anywhere, and use a rubbish hack bike if I am going to.
Although being grown up I have a car.I don't do smileys.

A question or two on the type of bike people are prepared to lock up would be useful.
I have MTB and road bike worth about a grand each but I never lock them up anywhere apart from occasionally on the car rack.
The only bike I ever lock up in a public place is my '94r Saracen Kilicomp. You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
Done. If I lock my bike it is for very short periods of time with two big locks. Had someone try to cut through my D lock before they couldn't so they kicked the wheels in instead.worst moment ever...
buzzing down twisting single track then.... psssst BANG!!!0
