What is the frame number?0

Not sure what it is, but its definitely not a Stumpjumper. I would guess a low-mid range early 90s bike. The forks look a bit cheap to be anything particularly special.A Flock of Birds
+ some other bikes.0 -
I have just had it powder coated so its not easy to read it all but it looks like 930438640

The design details do indicate its some kind of Specialized bike. I agree the fork is rigid and cheap but that's the appeal, I did build it for a 21mile round trip commuter bike but after a few weeks I have come to realise it belongs on the trails only so I am currently tweaking its setup back to mountain bike spec for some rigid old skool action.
Its original identity is still a mystery though as it had a Bodum coffee logo set on it as if its was given away along time ago as a freebee type thing. The original seat had Specialised on it for sure. Its got some reasonable kit on it though for an old bike.0 -

It's got horns. It might be a bull.0

I'm certain its not a specialized as the cable routing is wrong. I would hazard a guess at maybe a Diamond back based on those forks, but even then the frame routing is wrong. The problem is all bikes from that age looked roughly like this one so it could be 1 of 100 brands.A Flock of Birds

it is just a generic steel frame could be any thing."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Thank you, I have just got back from the first trail ride. All I can say is WOW that was a blast from the past! Lets say we have it easy nowadays with our plush full suspension. This was an experience I will never forget!0 -
All the details on it look just like my Gary Fisher Piranha frame (1997), but the quill stem is wrong....Having said that it's not far removed from my 1997 Fuji Nevada frame either!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
