Still basically a circuit. I'm looking at it with different eyes this year...I'm riding the sportive the day before.

Fewer repetitions. I like the oude kwaremont 3 times (for the race). Nice to see the steenbeekdries back.

Koppenberg late on is, erm, pretty full on and might neutralise it for a while before suddenly reducing it to a handful.

Happily it's the first at 105 Km's then 10th at 205 Km's.

The result of this makeover is a much more unrelenting finale in terms of the hills the riders will encounter. Now the first climb on the race after just 108km, the Oude Kwaremont is tackled again almost 100km later, followed by a first ascent of the Paterberg. From there the riders continue to the fearsome Koppenberg, which now sits just 45km from home, the closest it has ever been to the finish.

Following it in rapid succession are Steenbeekdries (39km from the finish), the Taaienberg (37km), the Kruisberg (35km), the Oude Kwaremont (17km) and Paterberg (13km).

A favourite of mine the Kruisberg (a little Pave climb) is still in there again.

I would have thought Haaghoek would be more of a worry for a little fella like yourself.

Much better. I know it's not good for the riders but when it rains it's much more exciting .

I agree also but then I used to ride around the Berg's some 20 and more years ago on quiet Saturdays on the day before RVV, Het Volk or others.
I think the RVV course this year is better laid out than last year and hopefully the Selection will come earlier before Ronse maybe. ?
