And different cameras with different sized sensors. Which explains why they all have different noise levels. Apart from 2 and 3.

    2 different cameras ... 1 & 4 on one and 2,3&5 on the other ...
  • All of those pics are accompanied by a commentary. There simply no reason, if he wanted to cheat, not to label all expensive lights as crap. Having owned too many of those listed I can say that several (exposure I'm looking at you) are dissappinting. And I can also say that my mega drive is considerably better than my old magicshine 872

Actually the point I was making is that the hope looked better than I thought it should.

I don't really buy in to the you get what you pay for argument. Hope and exposure lights are not great value.
  • Fair enough!

Have to say that, on a related point, the Cateye Volt 1200 looks particularly interesting.

OP - dont forget USB's on PC's and / or mains plugs can be charge at different current outputs.

I know on some PC's that the rear USB's are (or were) higher powered than the front.
(ps this is quite historical info and may be different nowadays but worth a check if you are charging off a PC)
  • My personal favourite is the Exposure Toro. 4 settings and lasts long enough to get there and back on full noise for you and it's bloody blight on full setting.

I'm a big fan of the Toro as my road bike light. Lower/flash settings for well lit/street light areas and then two higher levels for darker lanes, quick descents, blinding twats who won't switch their high beam off etc. Ultra reliable, easy to charge, great run times, robust, easy to mount.

Got Four4ths stuff and a Joystick for the MTB though :)

You can now get a USB socket that replaces one of your ordinary sockets at home...

We had one in work today that a rep brought in, bit different to the pic I posted as all it had on it was 2 USB slots in place of the one 3 pin socket. I thought it was cool too, never seen or heard of them before.

You can get 18650 powered USB power backs in 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 cell units which can be handy for usb lights. I use a 2-cell option when doing long MTB enduro rides where I want to have the garmin on map all day long and the iphone publishing location data. The standard USB power pack it will go for days. could also be handy for the gopro, but I'd need to mod the case to get the usb lead in. Works fine with spycams though.
