Don't you hate when you do get time off work etc, then when you get out its dark within a few hours.
Just when you could ride all day , two minutes later practically pitch black FFS. I'm a big fan of the winter weather think its more challenging, fun and no overheating. But the days are too short.

Lights.... my Sunday ride started at 8:45am, but I still took a light in my pack - which allowed me a scenic detour on my way home. But midweek riding is all after dark now.Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)

£35 is all it set me back for my light set up and it's lasted me 2 years.
why don't you fancy riding at night? i'll admit that I don't go to some of my usual trails on my own in the dark, but I still get out and ride the easier ones0 -

if you see diy's post here it's very similar to what I've got. looks like the price may have gone up slightly, but not much

Yep, get yourself a couple of these XM-L2 torches at under a tenner each (and that includes surface shipping)... mounts are about £2 from Dealextreme and a charger is a fiver. Cells are more of a nuisance - they are from £2.50 to £10 though they are 'free' if you have access to old laptops. £35-£50 is enough to cover decent lights.Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)

I've read that you should avoid the ultra fire batteries due to the poor performance and minor risk of them going bang0

are the ultrafire batteries the one in that link? if so I've had no probs with mine until recently, they've gone from 2 hour of life to about 20 mins. so I bought a new one for £25 from ebay. but still did be well for 2 years and I've never heard of anyone of my mates having an issue with them catching fire etc and i'd say most use those type.0 -
